This Thursday we will be taking a field trip to The World Forestry Center. We will be taking the MAX so we don't need drivers but chaperones are a great help. A few things to remember:
*If you have not filled out all of the paperwork from The Home Visit Packet, please do so before Thursday. We need to have a Field Trip Permission Form filled out for each student.
*If possible, please send your child's lunch in a brown paper bag. This will be an active day and I would hate for any of our students to lose a favorite lunch box.
*If you are chaperoning, please try and bring a backpack in order to carry a few lunches.
*We will be doing a short hike after lunch. Please have students dress accordingly.
*Please try and have your child at school by 8:45 Thursday morning. We will be leaving to catch The MAX at 9:00 sharp.

Tuesday
Today is Tuesday October 20, 2009. (Ivan reads and updates calendar.)
We will have menu groups. (Math games - many kids switch classrooms.)
We will have snack and recess.
We will have reading workshop. (Time when everyone works on building reading skills. Some have reading time on their own and a few kids have one on one with parent volunteers)
We will have lunch and recess.
We will have MUSIC with Heidi.
We will have read aloud. (Peter and the Starcatchers)
We will work on our MYSTERY ANIMALS.
We will work to keep our room clean.
We will have fun!!

Thursday: FIELD TRIP!! To the World Forestry Center - right next to the zoo. We're taking the MAX, bringing lunch and taking a little hike around the arboretum. Sign up outside class to come along! More the merrier. Might be a good idea to bring lunch in a paper bag, so that favorite lunch boxes and bottles don't get lost during the many adventures of the day.
Lots of questions about the bringing of little brother and sisters and attempted stories about favorite lunch boxes and bottles.
Maybe we'll have a vote if we will read the next Peter book in the series after we finish Peter and the Starcatchers.
