Pizza Party This Tuesday!

We will be having a class get together at Mississippi Pizza this Tuesday. Here are the details as Leah (our amazing liaison) has put together:

ok. lets eat pizza! the time is tuesday dec 14th at 4pm right after school. there is a happy hour slice special that they are willing to extend to us untill 6. its 1.75 a slice of either meat, cheese or veggie. we will have pitchers of free soda or you can bring something else to drink if you don't want soda. i am wanting to have a craft or art project the kids can work on after they eat so clean up will be helpful. there is a family friendly show at 6 so if you want to stick around and here some music. please do. i look forward to seeing you all there. Sharing For Friday

Hi all!

We're going to be having sharing on Friday. We took nominations for themes today and then voted. The kids voted for the theme of "A Special Toy." That theme overwhelmingly won over mine, which was "Something From Nature" (go figure). A few of guidelines:

1). Lets try and keep something "special to you." Not just my biggest or newest toy. This a time for students to learn about their classmates.

2). Please, no toy weapons. It is against school policy.

3). Must be kept in the student's cubby (not in pockets) until it is their time to share. I'm not big on confiscating things from kids. Please remind them of this rule before they come to school.

Also, Friday will be a big day as we do our last preparations for Performance Night. With that in mind, we will be holding our class meeting on Monday.

V I R G I N I A (The kids are learning a dance called The Virginia Reel to perform after the plays this Friday).

Info About Our Upcoming Performance Night

We would like all students at Trillium at 5:45 PM. The show will start at 6pm and will last a little more than an hour. The final performance on Friday night ends with a wedding, and we will be having a "wedding" celebration for all the performers with dancing (the Trillium version of the Virginia Reel which is for parent and children both) and feasting (cookies, crackers, fruit or chips and juice). If you would be willing to bring any of the above please sign up on the sheets outside of the rooms and bring them Friday morning or Friday evening by 6 pm. We are still looking for extra Christmas lights or theater lights to help light the stage. Please bring the lights to school by Thursday. If you have any questions please contact your advisor.

Trillium Tea Party

Hi all!

As many of you know, we will be having a class tea party this Friday as voted on by our class meeting. We are encouraging students to dress up (the kids seem pretty excited about this aspect, but it is in no way obligatory).

I have put up a sign up sheet outside the classroom for anyone who would like to contribute to the party. I am more than willing to provide the tea and snacks as I see this as a totally awesome group building occasion. On the other hand, many of the kids expressed interest in providing food/tea to the occasion (Pretty cool since this came from the students themselves). Do what you feel you can, but no pressure.

I will do my best to provide plates, cups, etc. Many students said they would like to bring in their own dishes. I think that is great but do not want to run the risk of any broken dishes and cups. Either way, I am sure we will have a delightful time. Sorry about the short notice on all of this, we've been working crazily as a whole in preparation of our upcoming plays!

Amazing Website For Creating Stories!

Hi all!

Today Macy shared with me a really incredible website for children and grownups alike to create stories with absolutely amazing illustrations. Students can use pre-created graphics to help inspire original stories. These stories can be shared but there are great configurations to keep them private.
