Hi all! As many of you know, I am a pretty big basketball fan. Considering which, I was pretty sad to hear that John Wooden passed away today. I wasn't around during his tenure but his legacy is something I always hear about. I dug around the internet today and realized he had a talk on TED (the same website from which I posted a video from Ken Robinson this past fall). I had no idea that his background was in teaching. I found his talk to be really inspiring and wanted to share it with you all. I hope you enjoy it.
PS Its really not that much about basketball.
PPS Here's to hoping I have the internet savvy to make this link work
Whitney, thanks for posting the John Wooden video. I was always a fan of John Wooden because of the reputation of his approach to coaching. I love the part of the video where he talks about the things he thought were important for success that were in his famous pyramid and that it did not include winning games. That would take care of itself if the players did their best with what they had. A special guy and a great universal example for us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting that. Good things to remember.
