I hope you all are enjoying the first couple of weeks of your summer. I'm planning on doing a park play day and hopefully a nice bike ride for this Friday, July 2nd at Wilshire Park (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=15778749032305586044&q=wilshire+park+portland&hl=en&gl=us) from 11:30 to 3:00. I haven't quite figured out all of the details yet, but I'm thinking we could meet and have lunch at the park. Then play some games and possibly take a group bike ride to either Fernhill Park or The Sabin Water Tower Park. That part just depends if we have bikes and the ability to ride. Parents of course are welcome to attend and/or go on the short ride with us. I guess I'll just wait to hear feedback on what is doable in terms of bike riding. We could always make car ride arrangements for those who would be more comfortable not riding bikes. Either way, we could just hang out at the park and enjoy some time together and (hopefully) some good weather. Children should bring a sack lunch, a water bottle, preferably a backpack, and a bike and helmet if available (bike locks are always a plus to be safe). On a side note, if this is a successful experience and families are interested, I would be very excited about offering similar days as possible summer camp opportunities out of our Trillium space. Once again, please let me know if you are interested in your child coming this Friday so I can begin the planning. Thanks!
